MDS Ancillary Defaults Form : Standard Tab : Framework Clearance Option, Closed End Clearance, Open End Clearance
MDS allows an overlap (clearance) value to be used when an ancillary is placed on a framework type support.
An additional parameter for the ancillaries is used to instruct MDS how the overlap (clearance) is applied, whether from the centreline or the geometry of the pipe and the MDS ancillary (e.g. the outside of the pipe). See the example below.
There is also a build style parameter which is held as a user defined attribute (uda) that specifies the way the support frame dimensions are applied when the frame is built up, i.e. whether the inside or outside of the steelwork at the closed end is used. This uda is copied from the support frame template. See the figure below:
The Build Style of the MDS Framework is controlled via the uda :MDSBuildStyl at the STRCTURE element of a MDS Framework template. There are two options, i.e. INSIDE (default) or OUTSIDE, which currently may only be set via the command line in the MDS Framework template DESIGN databases.
