Scale Objects

Objects can be scaled using the following methods:

Change Size of Objects

Change Size of Objects Using Reference Distance

Change Size of Objects

To change the size of objects, on the Draw tab, in the Modify group, click Scale.

The user is prompted to Select objects to scale

Note:

The prompt does not display if one or more objects are already selected.

Click to identify the objects to scale and press Enter.

The user is then prompted to Specify base point or

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the relative base point to which the objects are scaled.

The user is then prompted to Specify scale factor or <#>

Input a value in the field and press Enter or click to identify scale factor. The further the cursor is moved from the base point, the larger the objects become.

The objects are then scaled with respect to the specified base angle and the command ends automatically.

Throughout the scaling process the user can press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.



Copy	Press the down arrow key and select Copy to change the size of objects and keep a copy of the original.
Reference	Press the down arrow key and select Reference to specify a reference distance. Refer to Change Size of Objects Using Reference Distance for further information.

Change Size of Objects Using Reference Distance

To change the size of objects using a reference distance, on the Draw tab, in the Modify group, click Scale.

The user is prompted to Select objects to scale

Note:

The prompt does not display if one or more objects are already selected.

Click to identify the objects to scale and press Enter.

The user is then prompted to Specify base point or

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the relative base point to which the objects are scaled.

The user is then prompted to Specify scale factor or <#>

Input R at the prompt and press Enter.

The user is then prompted to Specify reference length or <#mm>

Input a dimensional value in the field and press Enter or click to identify two points that define the reference length.

The user is then prompted to Specify new length or

Press Enter to scale the objects using the specified reference length or input a dimensional value in the field and press Enter to scale the objects using the new reference length.

Throughout the scaling process the user can press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.



Copy	Press the down arrow key and select Copy to change the size of objects and keep a copy of the original.
Points	Press the down arrow key and select Points to redefine the reference length points.
