Add and Modify Drawing Objects : Orthogonal Drawing Mode
Orthogonal Drawing Mode
If orthogonal drawing mode is on, only horizontal and vertical lines can be drawn. To switch orthogonal drawing mode on and off, on the Status Bar, click Orthogonal drawing on/off, or press F8.
If the user has specified a vertex point in orthogonal mode, any further vertex points are defined by a default polar mode input.
To create a line in the direction of the mouse from the previous point, input the distance at the prompt and press Enter.
To temporarily switch orthogonal drawing mode on or off, hold down the Shift key when adding a line.
