Create and Modify Views : The 3D View : Create and Modify Section Planes

To manage section planes, on the Format 3D tab, in the Display group, click Section Planes to display the Section Planes window.

The Section Planes window allows planes to be created and amended.


	New Stepped Plane	Click to create a new section plane in the 3D view. The section plane is effectively a stepped plane with just two points defined.
	Indicate Section Plane Clipping	Indicates section plane clipping is off.
	Show Clipping List	Indicates section plane clipping is on. If used where the section is visible in the 3D view, the display indicates the side of the section to be removed.
	Show Clipping List	Displays the clipping list for the section planes. Each section plane can have a selective clipping list. The display contents of each list can be colour specific. Click to display the Drawlist Management window. Refer to Define View Contents for further information.
	Add to Clipping List	Click to add the currently selected element to the clipping list.
	Remove from Clipping List	Click to remove the currently selected element from the clipping list.
	Section Planes	Displays the name of the view and the identity and properties of each plane.
