Project Upgrade for MDS Defaults : MDS Upgrade in the MODEL Module : Update Process
Note:
The Upgrade may be run multiple times on the same or different MDB's in the same project without causing any corruption. However you must make sure that all databases containing MDS supports are run through this Upgrade procedure at least once.
It is advisable but NOT compulsory to complete this Upgrade process before any new MDS supports or any other new database elements are created in a project.
The Upgrade process should be started in the MDS 11.6 project application and completed in MDS12 project application.
3.
Enter an appropriate MDB containing MDS supports and generate the Upgrade macro file for the selected MDB by running the new PML function via the command line: For example !!mds116DesignFor12Upgrade().
4.
Transfer the Upgrade macro file from the current 11.6 project folder into the corresponding folder of the target Upgraded 12 version of the project.
5.
Run the Upgrade macro on the command of the MODEL module of the Upgraded 12 project. For example $M/C:\AVEVA\Plant\MDS12.0.SP4\project\mde\mdeinfo\ MDS12DesignAttaUpgrade\MDS116-to-MDS12-DESIGN-ATTA-UPGRADE-MACRO-27Aug2009-105747.pmlmac
6.
Running the Upgrade macro file will automatically generate an Upgrade Log file in the same folder of the Upgraded12 project as the Upgrade macro file itself. For example C:\AVEVA\Plant\MDS12.0.SP4\project\mde\mdeinfo\MDS12DesignAttaUpgrade\MDS12-DESIGN-ATTA-UPGRADE-LOG-FILE-27Aug2009-105747.pmllog.
7.
A successful Upgrade will not generate any other data except for that shown below:
