Nozzle

Equipment User Guide

A nozzle is an interface point between the equipment and the connecting Pipework. Nozzles are positioned and oriented (and given a height dimension) like other primitives, but must be selected from the catalogue via a Specification (for the bore to be assigned).

On the Equipment tab, in the Create group, click Nozzle to display the Nozzle Creation window.

The Create Nozzle window allows the user to define the nozzle specification.


Parameters	Displays the Primitives window, indicating the Parameters fields along the axis.
Name	Input the nozzle name in the Name field.
Specification	Select a nozzle specification from the drop-down list of available specifications.
Generic Type	Select a nozzle type from the drop-down list of available generic types.
Bore	The Bore specifies the nominal bore of the nozzle. Select a bore from the drop-down list of available bore sizes.
Height	Input the nozzle height in the Height field.
Temperature	Input the temperature to which the pipe can reach (the default is 0degC, this means that the temperature is ignored)
Duty	Input a value in the Duty field.
Pressure	Input the pressure to which the nozzle must withstand (the default is 0pascal).
Description	Input a description in the Description field.
Purpose	Input a purpose in the Purpose field.

Click Create to display the Nozzle in the 3D view or close the Create Nozzle window to discard any inputs.The Modify Nozzle window displays by default.
