Clash Detection in Laser Data
The laser model referenced XGEOM is clash checked in a similar manner to any other AVEVA E3D™ element. However, the results are reported as a clash between the AVEVA E3D™ primitive and a specific cell on the spatial occupancy map, rather that a clash between the AVEVA E3D™ model and XGEOM. If multiple clashes occur, for example when a pipe intersects with a number of bulkheads, each clash will be reported individually. Refer to
Laser Options
for further information.
Cell based clashing, clashes against the XCELLs and does not interrogate the point cloud. Cell based clashing is quicker than exact clashing but will result in more false positives.
Exact clashing expands on Cell clashing and, where a Cell clash has been identified, will further interrogate that geometry to determine whether there is a clash with the point cloud. Exact clashing is more time consuming but will eliminate the false positives.
