Knowing the existing conditions of a construction site or existing facility is important in the design process to ensure the accuracy and alignment of any new additional design parts. Capturing the existing conditions of any construction site or an existing facility and delivering the information in an accurate and intuitive manner is essential to an efficient design process.
Through the use of laser scanning it is possible to rapidly capture the as-built conditions of a facility and use this information throughout the design process. By utilising this powerful technology, the user is able to spend less time on site capturing as-built information, dramatically reducing project timescales, costs and mitigating risks.
The laser model is integrated into the AVEVA E3D™ product using the AVEVA LFM Server technology. To reference and read the dataset within the AVEVA E3D™ Model no additional software or licences are required. If the user wants to create new laser model datasets from laser scans this is outside the design process. For further information contact AVEVA LFM support.
