Right click on the 3D view and select Walk To, to perform similar operations to Zoom To, but differs in that it removes items between the users eye position and the target item that are not in the immediate vicinity of the target item. Items in the immediate vicinity of the target is displayed, so it can be necessary to remove items still obscuring the target item by removing them from the Drawlist. The smoothness of the zoom operation can be controlled, on the Project tab, click Options, click Views and select Animations to toggle on or off.
