Existing Drawings
The Existing Drawings part of the Process Drawings Control window allows you to select existing drawings for update, regeneration or renumbering.
 
Select
Allows you to populate the Existing Drawings list from a list of existing drawings. Refer to Select Existing Drawing drawings for further information.
Add
Allows you to add an element to the Existing Drawings list.
Select CE from the drop-down list and click Add to add the currently selected drawing on the Draw Explorer to the Existing Drawings list.
Select Current List from the drop-down list and click Add to add drawings from the currently selected list of drawings. Refer to Lists/Collections for further information.
Select Existing Drawing
Displays the ABA drawings that are available for selection.
Click to select the required drawings or right-click the current selection to display a drop-down menu.
Select All
Select from the drop-down menu to select all drawings within list.
Clear Selection
Select from the drop-down menu to clear all selected drawings from the list.
Click OK to add the selected drawings to the Existing Drawings list on the Process Drawings Control window or Cancel to discard any changes and close the ABA Drawing List window.
When the Existing Drawings list part of the Process Drawings Control window is populated, right-click to display a drop-down menu. Functionality also becomes available to modify the sheet variant template for drawings. Refer to Modify Sheet Variant Template for further information.
 
Select All
Select from the drop-down menu to select all drawings in the Existing Drawings list.
Clear Selection
Select from the drop-down menu to deselect all currently selected drawings in the New Drawings list.
Add
Select from the drop-down menu to add the currently selected drawing on the Draw Explorer to the Existing Drawings list.
Add From List
Select from the drop-down list to add to add drawings from the currently selected list of drawings. Refer to Lists/Collections for further information.
Rename
Allows you to rename the currently selected drawing in the Existing Drawings list. Select from the drop-down menu to display the Rename Drawing window.
You can modify the value in the Name field to rename the drawing.
Click OK to apply the new drawing name or Cancel to discard any changes and close the Rename Drawing window.
Remove All
Select from the drop-down list to remove all drawings from the Existing Drawings list.
Remove Selection
Select from the drop-down list to remove the currently selected drawing from the New Drawings list.
Modify Sheet Variant Template
Sets the sheet variant template used for ABA drawings.
ABA is designed to deal with sets of drawings produced from a template, which then need a few minor variations from the original template. For example, a template for producing piping general arrangement can be satisfactory for 95% of drawings, but needs an additional isometric view to clarify some details on the remaining 5%. The changed template is treated as a variant of the original rather than a new template.
The original template is known as the ‘master’ and the template with minor changes is known as the ‘variant’. There can be only one master but several variants.
The master/variant process works as:

New drawings always use the master template.
•
Variants can only be selected from the existing drawing list on the Process Drawings Control window.
•
The M or V1, V2 annotations indicate whether a drawing uses the master or variant template, in the list of selected drawings.
•
It is not possible to make a variant revert to a master.
The Modify Sheet Variant window allows you to select a template variant for a drawing.
Drawings
Select from the drop-down list to define the drawing to associate with a template variant.
Template Variants
Select from the list to apply the template variant to the currently selected drawing.
Note:
If a template variant is selected that is already in use, an Error window displays.
Click OK to close the Error window.
Click Apply to update the template variants or Cancel to discard any changes and close the Modify Sheet Variant window.
