Design Templates User Guide

Name	Input the name of the TMPL element in the field.
Purpose	Leave the selection as Unset from the drop-down list.
Description	The user can input a description into the optional Description field.
Function	The user can input a function into the optional Function field.
Generic Type	The user can input a generic type into the optional Generic Type field.
Add Properties	The application creates a Design Dataset (to hold Design Properties) by default, refer to Property Definitions for further information.
Add Points	The application creates a Design Pointset (to hold Design Points) by default, refer to Design Points for further information.

Copy a Model to this Design Template	Select the check box to allow a 3D model to be copied into the Design Template.
Name	Allows the user to input the name of the 3D model to be copied into the Design Template. The field is populated by default if a 3D model Equipment or Sub-equipment element is selected from the Model Explorer.
Pick item to copy	Allows the user to copy a 3D model into the Design Template using a cursor pick in the 3D view. The user is prompted: Defining a Template (Distance[0] Snap:
Maintain World Orientation	Maintains the current world orientation.
Ignore Elements that cannot be in Templates	All selected elements that cannot be included in a template are ignored and not included.
Origin	Displays the explicit position of the Design Template origin.
Lock	Select the check boxes to lock the explicit position of the Design Template origin.
