Enhance Annotation Elements
Annotation elements can be selected ('enhanced') using the command line. The ENHANCE command is used to control this. GUI mode also selects annotation elements (but not design elements) in the canvas, at which point all the normal GUI operations on selected elements can be performed. Note that the enhance list is independent of the canvas selection, deselecting the elements in the canvas does not remove them from the enhance list; this can only be done using the UNENHANCE command.
The ENHANCE command has the general form:
ENHANce [SOLEly] selection_criterion selection_criterion ...
For example:
ENHANCE SOLELY CE
ENHANCE SOLELY ALL CIRC FOR LAYER
ENHANCE ALL STRA WI ( ATTRIB LENG GT 400 ) FOR /SHEET12
ENHANCE ALL WI ( NLCOLO GE 11 AND NLCOLO LE 20 ) FOR NOTE
If the SOLELY option is used then all existing enhancements are removed, otherwise existing enhanced elements are unaffected by this command.
The FOR element_identifier command option is important; without it the selection system scans around the entire MDB.
Enhancements can be removed by the UNENHance command, which can optionally specify a selection criterion. The brief command
UNENHANCE
removes all enhancements and is always used for that purpose.
The command
UNENHANCE ALL
must NOT be used as it causes the entire MDB to be scanned.
The list of currently enhanced elements can be queried by:
Q ENHAnce [LIst]
Overlay (OLAY) elements can also be enhanced.
Entering MDB mode causes all chosen elements to be unenhanced and the enhanced element list cleared. When doing a SAVEWORK a module change, the enhancements are not permanently written to the picture file. However after a SAVEWORK command the enhanced element list still exists and the elements remain enhanced on the screen.
When generating exports, enhancements are ignored.
