Non-Routed Item
When clicking Non-Routed items, grips are used to edit them. Different grips are activated depending on the item selected.
The colour and size of the grips can be changed to suit individual working environments. The grip colours can be set to different colours for each state they are in, Active (default Red), Idle (default Cyan) and Selected (default Green).
As an item is edited a ghost image of the result is displayed.
Cone
A Cone grip is used in several ways depending on the item selected. The movement of the cone is constrained according to the shape of the item.
A cone grip on a GENSEC is used to reposition the endpoint or midpoint of an item.
Click on a cone and either drag the cone to its new position or enter a value.
On a Panel (PANE) a cone grip is used to fillet a corner.
Click on a cone and either drag the cone to specify the radius or enter a value.
To create a interior fillet enter a negative value.
On an item, for example, a Box or a Cylinder in Equipment, a cone grip is used to extend it, set an absolute value, create a spawn or extend it symmetrically.
To extend the size of an element click the cone and select Extension.
Either drag the cone to its new position or enter a value for the extension.
To set an absolute size of an element, click the cone and select Absolute.
Either drag the cone to its new position or enter a value for the absolute size of the item.
To create a Spawn, click the cone and select Spawn.
Either drag the cone to its new position or enter a value for the size of the spawn. The spawn will be created as a separate element.
To extend an element symmetrically, click the cone and select Symmetric.
Either drag the cone to its new position or enter a value to symmetrically extend the element.
Hemisphere
A Hemisphere grip is used to position the endpoint or midpoint of an item. The movement of the hemisphere is not constrained.
Click on a hemisphere and either drag the hemisphere to its new position or enter a value.
Sphere
A Sphere grip is used to move an item or position an items endpoint or midpoint without constraint.
Click on a sphere and either drag the sphere to its new position or enter a value.
Cube
A Cube grip is used to move an item without constraint.
Click on a cube and either drag the cube to its new position or enter a value.
Arrow
An Arrow grip is used to rotate an item.
Click on an arrow and either drag the arrow to its new position or enter an angular value.
An Arrow grip is used to extend or trim the connected end of a GENSEC. The movement of the arrow is constrained to the direction of the GENSEC.
Note:
Only available if Additional Grips is activated.
Click on an arrow and either drag the arrow to its new position or enter a value to define the cutback value of the fitting or joint. Enter a negative cutback value to extend the connected end of the GENSEC or enter a positive cutback value to trim the connected end of the GENSEC.
Cross
An Cross grip is used to create a new vertex position on an item.
Note:
Only available if Additional Grips is activated.
Click on a cross and either drag the cross to its new position or enter a value.
A new vertex position is created at the selected position.
Chamfer
An Chamfer grip is used to create a chamfer on the corner of an item.
Note:
Only available if Additional Grips is activated.
Click on a chamfer grip and either drag the grip to create the chamfer or enter a value for the chamfer distance.
The chamfer is created at the selected position.
