Common Functionality

Settings : Current View
Switches between Parallel and Perspective views of the model.
Determines if the eye point rotates round the model (About Model) or vice versa (About Eye (with walkthrough)).
Select Shaded to give a colour-shaded view or wireline (if not selected).
Select Outlines to give an outlines view
Select Shadows to give shadows to model elements.
Select Outline Translucent elements to add translucency to outlines of elements. Refer to Effects for further information.
Select PowerCompass to display the PowerCompass in the 3D view.
Select World Axes to display the world axes on the 3D view.
Controls the colour of the View background. Click Colour to display the 3D View Background Colour window.
Select Graduated to graduate the background colour lighter at the bottom and darker at the top of the 3D view.
Select Capping to set cap on and off.
To control the colour of the capping area, click Colour to display the 3D View Capping Colour window.
Select the level of Brightness and Reflection by moving the sliders to the left or right.
Click Save to save the current view settings as the default settings.
Click Reset to return the current view to the default 3D view settings.
Click Apply to apply the current view settings to the 3D view.
Click Cancel to discard any changes and close the View Settings window.
The following displays a 3D model without any outlines (thin black lines removed from the elements which outline the edges); the Outlines check box is not selected. The elements without outlines are only those displayed translucent.
The following displays the effects of shading, outlines and shadows applied to a model in the 3D view; all check boxes in the Effects pane are selected. The Outline Translucent elements check box is selected, which displays the outlines for all of the elements that are displayed translucent.
