Cable Design User Guide

Pull Pit Branch : Cableway

Use the functionality to define and position the new pull pit branch.

Enter a name for the CWAY element or the name can be automatically generated using the Autonaming icon to the right of the text box.

Cableway Branches


Diameter	Specifies the diameter (default is displayed).
Bend Radius	Specifies the bend radius (default is displayed).
Number	Specifies the number of branches (vertical and horizontal) (default is displayed).
Spacing	Specifies the spacing (default is displayed).
Overall Duct	Specifies the overall duct size (default is displayed).

No Tail Pull Pit/Junction Box

Use if only a head connection is required.

Straight line distance

Defines how long the head will extend from the head connection.

Use to manually modify the route of the cable with defined route points.

Note:

When pull pit branches are routed between pull pits/junction boxes the route is automatically defined.

By default, the Route Points tab is blank.

Route Point Position WRT Zone


Format	Explicitly positions the route point at E0, N0, U0 (default)
Offset	Use to position the route point using an offset, default is 0mm
Lock	Use to lock the coordinates
Pick Route Point Position	Use to pick the route point position in the 3D graphical view.
Copy Head Position	Use to copy the head position of the Pull Pit Branch
Copy Tail Position	Use to copy the tail position of the Pull Pit Branch


Add Before	Adds the route point before the currently selected element in the Route Point grid
Add After	Adds the route point after the currently selected element in the Route Point grid
Replace	Replaces the currently selected element in the Route Point grid with a newly identified route point
Remove	Removes the route point from the 3D view
Mark Route Points	Route points are identified in the 3D view with a label
Move Up in Order	Moves the currently selected element up the displayed order
Move Down in Order	Moves the currently selected element down the displayed order.

All cableway heads within the currently selected zone is displayed in the cableway head list (default).

All cableway tails within the currently selected zone is displayed in the cableway tail list.

Pick Pull Pit or Junction Box in 3D View

Use to pick the required pull pit or junction box in the 3D view.

Use to refresh the cableway head/tail list.

Automatically displays the head direction.

Head/Tail Position WRT Zone

Once the selection has been made, the coordinates are automatically displayed, amend if required.


Offset	Use to position the head/tail position using an offset.
Lock	Use to lock the co ordinates.
Pick New Head Position	Use to pick a new head/tail head position in the 3D view.

90 degree bends

Use to specify that 90 degree bends are used where possible.
