Hints on the Trying the Examples
The
Software Customisation Guide
is not designed as a self-teach tutorial, although users who are already familiar with PML 1 programming may be able to use it as such.
Because PML 2 is specifically designed to be used to create Forms and Menus, the best way of experimenting is to start up an AVEVA product and display the command line.
The user can then create new form and object definition files, or edit existing ones. The user can display their forms and use them interactively to execute their methods, or access their own independent PML functions and objects, which they have defined in their own separate definition files.
The source files for some of the larger examples are available from the AVEVA web site, so they can download them rather than having to type them in.
The user can find them here under \PML Macro Library.
