SLH Tools : Merge Handrails

If required the user can merge two separate handrails into one handrail, a detailed handrail cannot be merged into a layout handrail. Handrails do not need to be co-linear, gates and openings are maintained during the merge process.

If the CE is not a handrail element, the user receives an Message window:

Once CE is a handrail rail element, from the Stairs Ladders Handrails tab, in the Tools group, click Merge Handrails, the following Confirm window is displayed:

Click Yes the user is prompted to ‘Pick handrail to be merged to current handrail’.

Click No to discard any inputs and close the Confirm window.

Once the handrail is selected, it is merged with the current handrail, regardless of any obstacles. The order in which the handrails are selected dictates the properties and attributes of the merged handrail. That is the handrail selected first becomes dominant and the subsequent picked handrail assumes the properties and attributes of that. dominant handrail.
