Tidy
As part of best practice, it is desirable to tidy joints and nodes:

Tidy Joints
When a connected section is deleted from the 3D model, the SJOI element in the connection is also deleted and as a result leaves the SNOD element empty. Therefore it is good practice to remove these empty SNOD elements from the 3D model.
On the SECTIONS tab, in the Tools group, click Tidy, select Joints from the drop-down list to display the Tidy Joints window.
Select the Mark Joint for Deletion, Delete Node if empty check box as required.
From the Tidy Joints window, click CE to identify the elements to be checked as the CE.
The joint for deletion is labelled in the 3D view and the number of joints to delete is displayed in the Tidy Joints window.
 
 
 
Tidy Nodes
On the SECTIONS tab, in the Tools group, click Tidy, select Nodes from the drop-down list to display the Tidy Joints window.
Select the Mark Nodes for Deletion check box as required.
From the Tidy Nodes window, click CE to identify the elements to be checked as the CE.
The node for deletion is labelled in the 3D view and the number of nodes to delete is displayed in the Tidy Joints window.
