DRAW User Guide

Create and Modify Views : Format 2D View

2D Views are formatted using the Format 2D tab. The tab only displays when a View is selected on a Drawing Sheet.

Click to display a drop-down list with the following options:

Allows the user to create an orthographic projection view of the objects in an existing 2D view, with a preview image of the view. Refer to Create Projection View for further information.

Quick Projection

Allows the user to create an orthographic projection view of the objects in an existing 2D view without a preview image of the view. Refer to Create Quick Projection View for further information.

Allows the user to create a Detail view, which displays a selected area of an existing view. Refer to Create Detail View for further information.

Allows the user to create a Vsec (View Section) view, which allows an existing view to be modified to display only specific parts of it. Refer to Create Vsec View for further information

Allows the user to create a section view, which is a simple section through an existing view. Refer to Create Section View for further information.

Click to display a view in the 3D window and display the Format 3D tab. Refer to The 3D View and Format 3D Tab for further information.

Click to display a drop-down list with the following options:

Allows the user to configure a limits defined view. Refer to Modify View with Limits-Defined View for further information.

Allows the user to configure a user defined view. Refer to Modify View with User-Defined View for further information.

Click to turn the display of matchlines on and off.

Allows the user to set the type of scale for the view. Click to display a drop-down list with the following options:

Allows the user to select the scale for the view.

Direction Group

Allows the user to set the view direction.

Displays coordinates to indicate the current view direction. For example, D for down or E for East, W 45 S 35.26 D for ISO 1. The user can input values in the field to specify the view direction. The field can be modified.

Displays the current view angle. The field can be modified.

Representation Styles Group

Allows the user to select the view type. Click to display a drop-down list with the following options:

Wireline Hidden

Allows the user to select a discipline specific view style.

Click to display a drop-down list with the available options.

Allows the user to select discipline specific view hatching.

Click to display a drop-down list with the available options.

Local Rules Group

Allows the user to select and apply local view rules to items in the view's drawlist, overriding the selected discipline specific view style rules for those items. Refer to Define View Contents for further information.

Allows the user to select and apply local hatching rules to items in the view's drawlist, overriding the selected discipline specific hatching style rules for those items. Refer to Define View Contents for further information.

Allows the user to view and apply drawlists to views Refer to Define View Contents for further information.

Allows the user to create, modify and populate drawlists. Refer to Define View Contents for further information.

Used to manually update the current owner with any database or settings changes.

Note:

Such changes are automatically applied if

is set on the Status Bar.
