Status Bar
The status bar includes the following options:
Click to highlight a status bar option, the feature is then turned on. For example, if
Snapping to grid on/off (F9)
is highlighted, this indicates that grid snapping is turned on.
Some of the status bar options can also be toggled on and off using keyboard function keys. Where this is the case, the key in question displays in brackets.
Messages
Allows the user to open and close the
Messages
window. Refer to
Messages
for further information.
Snapping to grid on/off (F9)
Allows the user to turn grid snapping on and off. Refer to
Grid and Snap to Grid
for further information.
Grid on/off (F7)
Allows the user to turn the drawing grid and ruler on and off. Refer to
Grid and Snap to Grid
for further information.
Orthogonal drawing on/off (F8)
Allows the user to turn orthogonal drawing mode on and off. Refer to
Orthogonal Drawing Mode
for further information.
Polar tracking on/off (F10)
Allows the user to turn the display of polar coordinates on and off. Refer to
Add and Modify Drawing Objects
for further information.
Object snapping on/off (F3)
Allows the user to turn object snapping on and off. Refer to

Opens OSNAP options
Click to open the Object Snap tab on the
Advanced Drafting Settings
window. Refer to

In-canvas line weights on/off
Click to turn the display of line weights on and off.
Automatic update design on/off
Allows the user to turn automatic design updating on and off. If this is set, database and settings changes are applied automatically. If it is not set, such changes must be applied manually using the
Home
tab or the
Format 2D
tab (refer to
Format 2D View
for further information).
Dynamic hints on/off (F12)
Allows the user to turn the display of dynamic hints on and off. Refer to
Add and Modify Drawing Objects
for further information.
Greyout entities from owners other than the current owner on/off
When a view is selected, the user can grey out other parts of a drawing. Refer to
Create and Modify Views
for further information.
Canvas background gradient on/off
Allows the user to turn the canvas background gradient on and off.
