Run Quick Reports
To create a report with basic formatting, on the Tools tab, in the Report group, click Simple to display the Simple Report window.
The Simple Report window allows the user to quickly generate reports, however the report template cannot be saved.
File
Input a folder path and filename for the output report, including the extension (for example, .txt).
Leave blank if the report is for screen display.
Screen
Select the check box if the report is for screen display and not saved as a file.
Types
Input an element type to report on. For example:

bran mem
•
VALVE
•
gask flan
If the field is left blank, all types are reported on.
With
Use this option to narrow down the scope of the report. Input an expression, for example:
•
abore gt 30
•
tpos[3] le 1000
•
abore gt 30 AND name of owner neq ‘/B-1-2’
Columns
Allows the user to specify the attributes to be output in the report. The attributes specified are used as report column headings. For example:

name owner hpos tpos
Expressions enclosed in round brackets can be input. For example, the following outputs the type, name, and the first three characters of the owner's name:
•
type name (substr(name of owner, 1, 3)).
Hierarchy
Input the element or elements at the top of the hierarchy that are to be reported on. As a list of elements can be specified, the slash character must be input before each name, except for WORLD. For example:

Click Run to generate the report. Click Cancel to close the window.
If the Screen check box is checked, the report displays on screen. For example:
If the Screen check box is not checked, the report is generated as a text file with the specified filename in the specified folder.
