DRAW User Guide

Output Facilities : Export to SVG or AVEVA NET

To export to an SVG file and/or to export to a file which can be imported into AVEVA NET, on the Project tab, click Export to display the Export Options.


Export	Click to export the current sheet.
Multi Export	Allows the user to export multiple sheets, Click to display the Open window. The user can browse and select the required sheets using the standard Ctrl-click or Shift-click multi-select methods. Click Open to export the selected sheets. A standard Browse for Folder window then displays. The user must specify the folder into which the files are to be exported, then click OK to proceed with the export.
Specify export type	Select Export to SVG/AVEVA.NET from the drop-down list to define a .SVG file or an AVEVA.NET file as the export format.
Settings	Click to define the settings for the export. Refer to SVG/AVEVA NET Export Settings for further information.
Show view frames	Select the check box to include the frames of all View frame owners (for example, Views, Regions and Sheets) in the exported output.
Preview	Click to update the export preview.

SVG/AVEVA NET Export Settings

To configure settings for the SVG/AVEVA NET export, on the Export Options, click Settings to display the Publish to AVEVA NET - Configuration window.

The Publish to AVEVA NET - Configuration window allows the user to define the configuration file and set the logging options and staging options for the exported file.


Name	Select Draw from the drop-down list to indicate that the original file is a DRAW file.
Location	Input a value in the field to identify the location of the draw configuration file. Alternatively, click to browse to the required folder.
Log Enabled	Select the check box to create a log file (.txt file) when the export is processed. The Log File field becomes active.
Log File	Input a value in the field to identify the filename and location of the log file. Alternatively, click to browse to the required folder.
Staging Options	Input a value in the field to identify the top level folder into which files are to be exported. Alternatively, click to browse to the required folder.
Create Trigger File	Select the check box to create a trigger.start file (an empty text file) staging area folder for each file type when the export is processed. A trigger.start file triggers the AVEVA NET Portal’s import controller to automatically process all files that reside in the same folder.
Restore Defaults	Click to restore the default configuration settings.
Settings	Click to select the export mapping files and to specify additional CAD configuration export settings. Refer to CAD Configuration Settings for further information.

Click Apply to modify the configuration settings or Dismiss to discard any changes and close the Publish to AVEVA NET - Configuration window. The user is returned to the Export Options.

CAD Configuration Settings

To select mapping files for the export of data and specify other CAD configuration settings, on the Publish to AVEVA NET - Configuration window, click Settings to display the CAD Configurations window.

Select the Mappings tab to define the file mappings between DRAW data and AVEVA NET Portal format. The mapping files are stored as XML files, a file exists for each mapping type.


Presentation Mapping	Input a value in the field to identify the location of the presentation mapping file. Alternatively, click to browse to the required mapping file. Click to open the mapping file in the default text editor, for example, Notepad.
Keep Unmapped Attributes	Select the check box to export unmapped attributes (attributes not mapped to AVEVA NET Portal characteristics in the attribute mapping files) to export files as characteristics.
Attribute Mapping	Input a value in the field to identify the location of the attribute mapping file. Alternatively, click to browse to the required mapping file. Click to open the mapping file in the default text editor, for example, Notepad.
Class Mapping	Input a value in the field to identify the location of the class mapping file. Alternatively, click to browse to the required mapping file. Click to open the mapping file in the default text editor, for example, Notepad.

Select the Settings tab to define additional export settings.

The Settings tab allows the user to define the background colour and line thickness for the exported file. Functionality is also available to export using Fast Graphics Mode or to create a .CSV file listing all tagged objects and their corresponding classifications.


Colour	Select a background colour from the drop-down list for the export file. Alternatively, select RGB values from the drop-down lists to define a custom background colour for the export file. Alternatively, click Pick Colour to display the Color window. The functionality of the Color window is explained as part of the process to modify the DRAW Display Options. Refer to Colours for further information.
Scale Factor	Input a value in the field to define the line stroke-width attribute value for the export file.
Fast Graphics Mode	Select the check box to speed up the export process. Drawing entities that are not required, for example, meshes are not exported.
Create Tag CSV File	Select the check box to create a .CSV file in the output folder containing a list of all the tagged objects and their corresponding classifications.

Click OK to apply the CAD configurations or Cancel to discard any changes and close the CAD Configurations window. The user is returned to the Publish to AVEVA NET - Configuration window.
