Output Facilities : Export to DWG or DXF

To export a drawing or drawings to a DWG or DXF file, on the Project tab, click Export to display the Export Options.


Export	Click to export the current sheet. When Export is selected, the current export settings are saved.
Multi Export	Allows the user to export multiple sheets, Click to display the Open window. The user can browse and select the required sheets using the standard Ctrl-click or Shift-click multi-select methods. Click Open to export the selected sheets. A standard Browse for Folder window then displays. The user must specify the folder into which the DWG/DXF files are to be exported and click OK to proceed with the export.
Specify export type	Select Export to DXF/DWG from the drop-down list to define a .DXF or a .DWG file as the export format.
Specify file type	Allows the user to define the exported file type. Click to display a drop-down list. Select the required export file format from the drop-down list.
Specify export area	Allows the user to define the exported area. Click to display a drop-down list. Select either the entire sheet or one of its views from the drop-down list.
Specify desired size	Allows the user to define the scale of the exported area. Click to display a drop-down list. Select a pre-defined scale size for the exported file, for example, ISO A3 or ISO A4, or select Use Scale to define a scale factor for the exported output using the Scale field.
Cutmarks	Select the check box to export the file with cutmarks.
Scale	Input a value in the field to define a scale factor for the exported file. The Scale field becomes active if Use Scale is selected when the user specifies the desired output size. Refer to Specify desired size for further information.
Frame	Select the check box to export the frame.
Border	Input a value in the field to define the border width. 0mm indicates no border.
Advanced	Select the check box to display advanced export settings. Deselect the check box to suppress the display of advanced export settings.
Header file	Select the check box to associate a header file with the exported output. Click and browse to the required header file.
Backs	Select the check box to form backing sheets into blocks.
Fills	Select the check box to form fills into blocks.
Olays	Select the check box to form overlays into blocks.
Nested blocks	Select the check box to create nested blocks.
Use blocking rules	Select the check box to use blocking rules for the export. Blocking rules becomes active.
Blocking rules	Click to define the blocking rules for the export. Refer to Blocking Rules for further information.
Auto preview	Select the check box to update the preview as the export settings are changed, by default.
Show view frames	Select the check box to include the frames of all View frame owners (for example, Views, Regions and Sheets) in the exported output.
Preview	Click to update the export preview.
Save settings	Click to save the current export settings.
Restore defaults	Click restore the default export settings.

Blocking Rules

If blocks are to be generated with user-defined blocking rules, on the Export Options, select the Use blocking rules check box, click Blocking rules to display the Blocking Rules window.

The Blocking Rules window allows the user to create, modify and delete user-defined blocking rules.


	Block	Input a value in the field to define the dabacon design elements to be blocked. For example, EQUI or PIPE.
	With	Input selection criteria in the field using the same syntax as for PML collections. Refer to Customisation Facilities; The Programmable Macro Language (PML) for further information.
	Include	Input element attribute names (comma separated). The attributes are added to the block as ACAD block attributes.
	Add new rule	Click to add a blocking rule to the list of available blocking rules.
	Remove selected rule	Click to remove the currently selected blocking rule from the list of available blocking rules.
	Move rule up	Click to move the currently selected blocking rule up one position on the list of available blocking rules.
	Move rule down	Click to move the currently selected blocking rule down one position on the list of available blocking rules.
