Add Annotation : Dimensions : Add Linear Dimensions

To add linear dimensions, on the Annotate tab, in the Annotate group, click Orthogonal Chained, select the required option from the drop-down list.

Alternatively, on the Home tab, in the Annotate group, click Orthogonal Chained, select the required option from the drop-down list.

The user is prompted to Specify the dimension point or <Type>

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the point to measure from.

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the first point to measure to.

The user is then prompted to Specify the dimension line position

Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the position of the dimension line.

The user is then prompted to Specify the dimension point or <Finish>

Input F at the prompt and press Enter to end the command.

Throughout the linear dimension creation process the user can press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.



Direction	Press the down arrow key and select Direction to specify the direction of the dimension. The user is prompted to Select option <Left> Input L at the prompt and press Enter to specify the dimension direction as left. Alternatively, input R at the prompt and press Enter to specify the dimension direction as right. The option is only available for Combined Left, Combined Right, Baseline Left, and Baseline Right linear dimension types.
Finish	Press the down arrow key and select Finish to end the command.
Orientation	Press the down arrow key and select Orientation to specify the orientation of the linear dimension. The user is prompted to Select option <Orthogonal> Input A at the prompt and press Enter to specify the dimension orientation as aligned. Alternatively, input O at the prompt and press Enter to specify the dimension orientation as orthogonal.
Type	Press the down arrow key and select Type to specify the type of linear dimension. Select option <Chained> Input B at the prompt and press Enter to specify the dimension type as baseline. Alternatively, input C at the prompt and press Enter to specify the dimension type as chained. Alternatively, input O at the prompt and press Enter to specify the dimension type as combined.
Undo	Press the down arrow key and select Undo to undo the last action.
