Data Access Control
: Create Mode
Create Mode
When the user selects a pipe to create an ancillary, the application first checks if it can claim the branch. If it cannot claim the branch, then an error message is displayed. A check is made at branch level because another user can modify the branch while it is being supported. This can compromise the integrity of the model because the user may move the branch leg that is being supported.
If the user can claim the element, then a further check is made to see if they have sufficient access rights to create an atta. If the user does not have sufficient access rights, then an error message is displayed.
In create mode the user may decide to create the connections to structural steel. A check is made to determine whether or not the user can:
•
Claim the steelwork
•
Create SNOD elements
If the user can do neither of these, then the Create, Modify, Force Connect and Delete icons are deactivated.
If the user can create a support, they are allowed to modify or delete the same components that have been created and to modify or delete additional components (for instance: elbow, reducer, bend).
