A scrollable list is displayed as a vertical list of options within a window, with vertical and horizontal scroll bars along its sides. To select an option, click on a line. The selected line is highlighted.

Some scrollable lists allow the user to make only a single selection, so that selecting any option deselects all others automatically. Other lists allow the user to make multiple selections, with all selected options highlighted simultaneously. The user can deselect a highlighted option in a multiple-choice list, by clicking on it again (repeated clicks toggle a selection).
