Dimensioning
Dimensioning
Dimensions are a form of drawing annotation consisting of both text and geometric elements; they may be linear, radial (two types) or angular. Linear and radial dimensions show the distances between particular points in the design model whilst angular dimensions show the angles between directions.
A simplified view of that part of the Database hierarchy (refer to

for further information) that relates to dimensioning is shown below.

DRAW allows dimensions to be created quickly and easily (using the cursor), with many attributes of the dimension elements being set automatically by cascading values from the owning LAYE element.
