Guide Structure
The Common Functionality User Guide is divided into the following sections:
Getting Started
The Design window is displayed and the ribbon menu functions explained.
General Operations
Allows the user to open different Design applications, change to other functional modules and save any design changes made during the current session.
View Design
Allows direct access to most of the functions needed to set-up, manipulate the view and control settings for multiple views of the Design.
General Facilities
The general facilities of the Design application that are common throughout the applications and modules.
Model Editor
Is a mode of operation in Design which enables the user to reposition selected items using the mouse pointer.
Design Aids
Allows the user to incorporate lines, arrows, arcs, spheres, boxes or cylinders in a view to help the user with the design construction.
Display
Allows the user to select the required Explorer, automatically list the elements referenced by the CE, display the attributes that have been specified for the current selected element (CE), access the attributes menu and other display options.
Settings
Describes all the available menu options on the Settings menu.
Create
Allows the user to do the general element-creation operations, which are common to all applications.
Modify
Allows the user to Modify the Design.
Delete
Describes all the available menu options on the Delete menu.
Data Check
Allows data consistency checks written in PML to be added to DESIGN.
Hole Management System
Responsible for controlling and reporting all data associated with a ‘managed’ hole.
Query
Allows the user to query current data settings.
Reporting
How to produce a report using templates and how the report is displayed.
Highlight Changes in Schematic Diagrams
Changes made to schematic diagrams between selected sessions.
Batch Reports
Allow the user to run new reports created by the Report Designer in batch.
Laser
Describes the Laser data functionality.
Global
Describes the Global functionality.
