Additional Tools : Spec Generator : Create Specification

The Create Specification window available in the Spec Generator application is used when creating Specifications for Nozzles or Structural Steel.

While within Spec Generator, select Create > Specification from the main menu to display the Create Specification window.

Enter the Name to be assigned to the new Specification.

Enter a Description for the specification and select the appropriate generic and type specification.

Click OK to create the new specification.

In principle, the user can create an empty Specification element and then modify it by reference to any specified catalogue item. In practice, the user can only create Specifications for structural profiles or equipment nozzles using this method.

To create a Specification in this way (perhaps for later modification), check that you are at SPWL level.

Enter a meaningful Name and Description.

The Generic Type option currently restricts the user to Equipment (with a corresponding Spec Type of Nozzles) or Structural Steel (with a corresponding Spec Type of Steel Sections, i.e. Profiles). Select the required option.
