The SYSTEM database stores information about the users, teams, databases and module definitions in a project. The information held in the System database is only updated by System Administrators with access to ADMIN, never by other users, although all users will need read access to the information. Entering ADMIN opens the SYSTEM database in write mode, and all other modules open it in read mode.
