AVEVA E3D™ Databases
: Database Types
Database Types
An AVEVA E3D™ project can contain the following types of database:
Administration Databases
•
The SYSTEM database itself, which holds the access control data for the model data and modules.
•
The COMMS database, which stores information about who is using which module and which model databases are available.
•
The MISC database which stores inter-user messages, and inter-database macros.
Model Databases
•
MODEL databases which contain all the design information for the project.
•
CATALOGUE databases which contain the project catalogue and specifications.
•
PADD databases which contain data about drawings produced by DRAFT.
•
ISOD databases which contain spool drawings produced by SPOOL.
•
PROPERTIES databases which can contain material properties, and can be referenced by the catalogue.
•
DICTIONARY databases which contain the definitions of User-Defined Attributes (UDAs), User Default Element Types (UDETs) and User System Defined Attributes (USDAs) as set up in LEXICON.
The following are specific to Marine Projects
•
SCHEMATIC databases, which contain P&ID (Schematic) information.
•
MANU databases, which contain detailed manufacturing data
•
NSEQ databases, which store name sequences.
Each project can have only one of each type of administration database, but it can have any number of each type of model database.
