The Update operation will remove all shapes from the existing background pages (even if they are protected against deletion) and inserts new shapes from the template page. Newly created shapes will have the same location as in the template.

All page properties like height, width, scale, context menu etc. will be updated according to the Background source properties. However, the page name remains unchanged.

If the source background page is an ‘Intelligent Background Page’, refer to Intelligent Background Page in Chapter Working with Diagrams, all elements position located on the foreground page will be updated according to the new background.
