DRAW User Guide

Basic Operations : Power Selector

Quickly selects primitives or annotations based on filter criteria. Functionality is also available to select annotations based on an intelligent link to the AVEVA E3D™ model.


	Select entity group	Select Primitive from the drop-down list to select primitive elements using primitive filter criteria. Refer to Primitive Selection for further information. Select Annotation from the drop-down list to select label or dimension elements using annotation filter criteria. Refer to Annotation Selection for further information.
	Select entity source	Select All from the drop-down list to filter the selection of all elements on the current sheet. Select Current Owner from the drop-down list to filter the selection of all elements that you currently own.
	Fill filters automatically from selected entity	Click to filter the selection of all elements that match a picked element. You are prompted to Select entity Click to identify the element, the filter fields are populated with the element properties.
	Select matching entities and zoom	Click to select all elements that match the filter criteria, the extent of the selected elements displays on the drawing canvas.
	Send results to collection form	Click to select all elements that match the filter criteria, the Collections window displays. Refer to Collections for further information.
	Clean Power Selector Form	Click to remove all defined filter criteria from the Power Selector window.

Primitive Selection

Quickly selects primitives based on primitive filter criteria.


	Select primitives	Select All from the drop-down list to filter the selection of all primitives. Alternatively, select the check boxes adjacent to the primitives to be included in the filter selection.
	Type of filter	Select from the drop-down list to filter the selection of primitives using a primitive property.
	Type of filter operator	Select from the drop-down list to filter the selection of primitives using a filter qualifier. Select to filter the selection of primitives equal to the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of primitives not equal to the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of text strings that begin with the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of text strings that end with the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of text strings that contain the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of text strings that does not contain the Value of filter for matching entity.
	Value of filter for matching entity	Input a value in the field or select from the drop-down list to filter the selection of primitives using a qualifier value. For example, input a primitive radius value in the field or select a visual layer from the drop-down list.
	Fill filter value automatically from entity	Click to filter the selection of primitives that match a picked primitive property. You are prompted to Select entity Click to identify the element, the value field is populated with the element property.
	Remove filter	Click to remove the filter from the Power Selector window.

Annotation Selection

Quickly selects labels or dimensions based on annotation filter criteria.


	Label	Select the Label tab to filter the selection of all labels.
	Dimensions	Select the Dimensions tab to filter the selection of all dimensions.
	Type of filter	Select Element name from the drop-down list to filter the selection of labels or dimensions using the name of an element based on an intelligent link to the AVEVA E3D™ model. Select Element type from the drop-down list to filter the selection of labels or dimensions using the type of element based on an intelligent link to the AVEVA E3D™ model. Select from the drop-down list to filter the selection of labels or dimensions using a property value.
	Type of filter operator	Select from the drop-down list to filter the selection of labels or dimensions using a filter qualifier. Select to filter the selection of labels or dimensions equal to the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of labels or dimensions not equal to the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of text strings that begin with the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of text strings that end with the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of text strings that contain the Value of filter for matching entity. Select to filter the selection of text strings that contain the Value of filter for matching entity.
	Value of filter for matching entity	Input a value in the field or select from the drop-down list to filter the selection of labels or dimensions using a qualifier value. For example, input an element name in the field or select an element type from the drop-down list.
	with	Input a value in the field to filter the selection of labels or dimensions using a definition rule. The example filters all branches with a bore size greater than 100 mm.
	Fill filter value automatically from entity	Click to filter the selection of elements that match a picked element property. You are prompted to Select design element or Select entity Click to identify the element, the value field is populated with the element property.
	Remove filter	Click to remove the filter from the Power Selector window.
