Gadget Background Colour
The gadget methods Background() and setBackground(colourname as STRING) allow you to query and set a gadgets background colour as a colourname string. See the table in the Customisation Reference Manual for definitive list of which gadgets support the methods.
The following restrictions apply:
•
Some gadgets do not support this property in all circumstances, e.g. gadgets showing a pixmap.
•
Gadgets whose colour has not been set explicitly, may not have a colour with a known colourname. In this case an error is raised.
Gadgets also have the Background property, which allows query and setting of the integer colour index.
The special colour index value, zero, allows you to reset the colour of the gadget to its default value. The default colour will be different according to the type of the form on which the gadget is defined, and in some cases will not have a colourname string.
