Generating a Token
To authenticate the Global daemon, users run the tool 'ac.exe' from the Global Server install folder. This invokes the AVEVA Credentials Manager, which once configured enables the authentication of the Daemon processes.
Run 'ac.exe' to display the
AVEVA Credentials manager
window.
Select
AVEVA.IED.Global
client.
Your AVEVA Connect login will appear, login and select the required account, this will generate the required credentials
You can now close the
AVEVA Credentials manager
window
.
When you start your Global daemon bat file, the daemon starts and behaves in its normal way, but it will obtain access tokens from the AVEVA Credentials manager.
If left uninterrupted, the daemon process will run until the token expires or is revoked.
The current lifetime of the refresh token is
six months
.
When the token expires it can be renewed by repeating the above steps.
Note:
There is no warning as to when a token expires, the daemon will stop if the re-authentication is not done.
