Timing of Updates
The batches of updates that are run in one update session to keep all locations synchronised do not have to be run sequentially. However, updates should be not started at exactly the same time to avoid file-contention on the Global database.
If it is felt desirable to run the updates sequentially then a script will be required that uses the EXECA and EXECB script attributes on the Update event (LCOMD) to run pre- and post-execution scripts on a scheduled update. This could also:

Record update start and finish times
•
Report on Database sessions
•
Lock out other updates by creating/deleting a lock file
This script is not a standard delivery as it needs tailoring for each project set-up. If required the customer can request services from AVEVA to deliver this.
