Structural Design Templates
Structural Design Templates
The standard supports, which are designed using structural sections (GENSECS), are template driven. Default sample template sets exist for British Standard, AISC and DIN. Each template set exists in a unique database within the APS project, for example:

MDS/DESITMPL-BS
•
MDS/DESITMPL-AISC
•
MDS/DESITMPL-DIN
The template data is stored in the model in an application data world and is named APPLDW/SUPPORT/FRAMES/BS.
Note:
AISC and DIN standards are named similarly.
It is possible to configure the design templates to suit the needs of the user. This might be to customise bar sizes of existing BS, AISC or DIN standard templates; add existing template options to the support standards contained within each template set or to add additional template data worlds based upon other national steelwork standards.

In order for a hanger design template application world to be registered for use within the Supports application it must be set with:

Each Standard Support template type has its own ZONE, below which a maximum of 50 structural templates may exist.
