Limitations and Error Messages
The following limitations affect the transfer of information from MODEL to AutoCAD.
1.
The interface translates 3D geometric elements only
2.
BOUN and DRAW elements and 3D lines are not translated
3.
Most element names are not translated. The names of the Site, Zone and STRU/EQUI may be transferred as Block names, if the AVEVA E3D™ names are valid for AutoCAD blocks. Some characters that are permitted in AVEVA E3D™ names but not permitted in Block Names are replaced in the exported file:
· " is replaced by IN
· *,/:;<=>?\^` are each replaced by -
If this replacement is not wanted, for example if it causes duplicate Block names it can be suppressed by an export option command.
export option 'AdjustBlockNames' 'NO'
4.
Element attributes are not translated
5.
The database hierarchy is not translated and any catalogue components are copied for every instance
6.
Primitives are translated in millimetre units only
7.
All geometry is transferred to the DXF file as facetted objects (cylinders are transferred references to a single prismatic extrusion - stored as an AutoCAD block).
