If the user is not familiar with the use of the MODEL module, it is recommended that the user first works through one or more of the discipline-specific guides, for example, Pipework Design User Guide or Structural Design User Guide. The user must be proficient in the use of MODEL before trying to create Design Templates. The user must also be familiar with the main principles of managing Catalogues and Specifications in databases: the use of Design Templates provides an extension of those facilities.
