Limitations to LIEXEC Exports
Limitations apply:
•
Complex user-defined fill types often cannot be exported to AutoCAD or MicroStation.
•
DRAW ‘decorated’ line styles (those with embedded glyph(s) or text, or with terminal glyph(s)) are emulated in the export as neither AutoCAD nor MicroStation support different Decoration Repeat (DECREP) and Pattern Repeat (PATREP) distances in a single line style. Each line is exported as a set of line segments with glyphs or text between them. The line pattern will re-start with each segment, and the number and spacing between the glyph(s) or text may not exactly correspond to those on the DRAW canvas.
•
In Advanced mode, the mapping of Dimensions to AutoCAD or MicroStation equivalents may result in the detailed layout of the dimension changing, because the exported entity is not identical to the original. This may also result in the Wipeouts arising from blanking in DRAW being in the wrong place.
•
Dimensions using gapping will be exported in basic mode (i.e. exploded).
•
If paper scaleup is used to modify the exported size, dimensions will be exported in basic mode (i.e. exploded).
•
Linear dimensions can only be exported as either Rotated or Aligned dimensions and not all variations possible in DRAW can be replicated in AutoCAD or MicroStation. In some cases, they will be exported in Basic mode (i.e. exploded).
•
RDIM and PDIM elements will be mapped to Diametric or Radial dimensions but the details may not correspond exactly to the Draw canvas.
•
Bold, Italic and Bold/Italic fonts used in Text Styles do not always export correctly into AutoCAD when used with simple Text objects (for example, as Dimension texts). This depends on which font is being used - AutoCAD's Text Style management tool can be used to select an alternative font. Text exported as MText objects are not affected by this.
•
DRAW blanking can be exported, but when exported via a DXF 2014 format file may result in frames being drawn around the Wipeouts in some versions of AutoCAD; the keyword used to turn the frames off seems to be ignored in this case. The frames can be turned off manually in AutoCAD.
•
It is not possible to export any dimension to DGN with different terminators at either end; in these cases the main terminator (DTER) will be used at both ends.
