Physical Dimension <uval>
Initial standard units cannot be abbreviated if no secondary units follow. Initial syntax units can be any of the supported syntax.

Additional Syntax Units <addSyntaxUnits>
These compound multiple space separated units with additional qualifiers of the form PER for division and cubic and square for powers of 2 or 3
In the final unit qualifier the first unit can be a standard unit, or a syntax unit variation. Secondary units can only be syntax units, not standard units.

Additional Standard Units <addStandardUnits>
These compound multiple concatenated units with power indices (which may be positive or negative) and separated by a dot (.) for multiplied units and slash (/) for divided units.
In the final unit qualifier the first unit may be a standard unit or a syntax unit (i.e. syntax variations). Secondary units can only be standard units, not syntax units.

Syntax Units
Syntax Unit is a unit qualifier identified by the syntax parser and these are in addition to the long and abbreviated standard unit names. Syntax units being more verbose can be space separated from the value they are qualifying.

StandardUnit or stdUnit
•
Is any standard unit 'long name' or 'abbreviation' as defined. Refer to Standard Units for further information.

Or identifiable shortened form of name or abbreviation.
•
To be recognised standard unit forms must be concatenated with their value with no space, or with the previous component unit by a dot or slash.
If there are NO additional units following then it must be the complete long name with no shortening allowed
Prefix
•
Prefix is a standard supported SI prefix which are listed in the Database Management Reference Manual.
This is concatenated with no space separating it from its units (e.g. centilitre). There are no abbreviations for prefixes. They can apply to any standard unit.
Power
•
Is an integer less than 9 and optionally preceded by '+' or '-' or neither.

Will also accept trailing inch unit qualifiers but these are redundant and effectively ignored.
The blip (') is a significant input character that determines that mixed feet and inches is being input. Therefore it cannot be used as a substitute for other feet units (FEET, FT etc.) and vice versa. Double quote and INCH qualifiers are, in contrast, interchangeable.
