Data Reuse : Data Reuse Window
The Copy From pane of the Data Reuse window is populated with all the database worlds and associated elements available to copy from, the Database tab is displayed by default.
The Copy To pane of the Data Reuse window is populated with all the database worlds available to copy to.
If a SITE is selected in Copy From then a SITE or DBWORLD needs to be selected in Copy To.
If a ZONE is selected in Copy From then a ZONE or SITE needs to be selected in Copy To.
If an APPLDA is selected in Copy From then a SITE needs to be selected in Copy To.
Use the Rules pane of the Data Reuse window to define the rules which modify the copied elements. The Naming tab is displayed as default.
The Naming rules are used to modify the name of the copied elements, rules can comprise of the following:
The order of the rules is important as they will be run sequentially, use the functionality (Move To Top, Move Up, Move Down and Move To Bottom) available to change the order of the rules.
The Attributes rules are used to modify the attributes of the copied elements, rules can comprise of the following:
Use the Load Rules and Save Rules functionality to load and save rules. The naming and attribute rules are saved in different files and are saved and loaded independently from each other.
There is also the addition functionality available for selection, Add Rules, Copy Selected Rules, Remove Selected Rules and Remove All Rules.
Use the Preview functionality to view a preview of the new names based on the naming rules along with any errors.
Use the Apply functionality to copy the elements to the new location and apply any rules for names and attributes. A Confirmation message is displayed.
Once the copy has been completed, the Results window is displayed. Any issues that may have arisen as part of the naming/attribute modification operations, as well as details of the elements modified are listed.
Use the Save Result Log File to save the content of the log file to a desired location and View to display the created log file.
