Common Functionality

	Show Notifications	Click to display the Notifications window. The number of new notifications is displayed in a red box.
	Scale	DRAW only: Displays the current scale. If there is no value to display -:- is displayed.
	Cursor coordinates	DRAW only: Indicate the cursor position within the 2D sheet.
	User Messages	As actions are carried out, user messages relating to these actions display on the status bar. For example, errors or warnings. Click to display the User Messages window which records all the user messages issued in a session. Click again to close the User Messages window.
	Grid (F7)	Turns the grid and ruler display on or off. Functionality is available to define the display of the grid. Refer to Object Snap Settings for further information.
	Grid Snap (F9)	Turns grid snapping on or off. To temporarily override the current snap to grid setting, hold down the Shift key when manipulating an element.
	Polar tracking (F10)	Turns the display of polar coordinates on or off.
	Orthogonal Lock (F8)	Turns orthogonal drawing mode on or off. If orthogonal drawing mode is on, objects can only be manipulated in a horizontal or vertical direction. To temporarily override the current orthogonal drawing mode setting, hold down the Shift key when manipulating an object.
	Dynamic Hints (F12)	Turns the display of non-coordinate related information on or off.
	Additional Grips	Model only: Turns on the additional Chamfer and Fillet grips. DRAW only: Turns on the additional Line Dimension, Outline and Section Plane grips.
	Distance Snap	Turns distance snapping on or off. The distance is set using the Object Snapping Settings window. Refer to Object Snap Settings for further information.
	Projected Start / End	Turns projected snap mode on or off. If projected snap mode is on, the cursor snaps to the connection node of a GENSEC or to the item start/end point if not connected. Midpoint snapping is measured between the midpoint of the connection nodes if a GENSEC is connected or the item start/end points if not connected.
	Significant Snaps	Turns significant snap mode on or off. If significant snap mode is on, the cursor snaps to the connection node of a GENSEC. Midpoint snapping is measured between the midpoint of the connection nodes of a GENSEC.
	Project Snaps onto LCS	Specifies if object snaps are projected to the working plane.
	Object Snapping (F3)	Turns object snapping on or off. Functionality is available to define the object snap settings. Refer to Object Snap Settings for further information. To temporarily override the current object snap setting, hold down the Shift key when manipulating an element.
	Open object snap options	Click to define the default object snap settings, P-line filter settings and grid settings. Refer to Object Snap Settings for further information. Click to modify the advanced draft settings for DRAW. Refer to Advanced Drafting Settings for further information.
	Linked grips on/off	DRAW only: Turns linked grips mode on or off. If linked grips mode is on, you can modify a number of selected objects using a single grip.
	In-canvas line weights	DRAW only: Turns the display of line weights on or off.
	Automatic update design	DRAW only: Turns automatic design updating on or off. If this is set, database and settings changes are applied automatically. If it is not set, such changes must be applied manually.
	Grey out entities from owners other than the current owner	DRAW only: When a view is selected, you can grey out other parts of a drawing that are not owned by you. Refer to Create and Modify Views for further information.
	Canvas background gradient	DRAW only: Turns the canvas background gradient on or off.
	Date and Time	To display the date and time, on the status bar, right-click and select Display Date or Display Time from the drop-down list. Repeat the command to remove the date and time from the status bar.

Project Snaps onto LCS (F4)	Specifies if object snaps are projected to the working plane.
Projected Start / End	Turns projected snap mode on or off.
Distance Snap	Turns distance snapping on or off. Enter a default distance.
Significant Snaps	Turns significant snap mode on or off.
Object Snap On (F3)	Turns object snaps on or off. Activates the Elements and Graphics tabs.

Node	Turns on or off node snap functionality for model elements. For example, GENSEC connection nodes and grid intersections.
Item	Turns on or off endpoint snap functionality for model objects. For example, endpoints of a GENSEC.
Item Mid Point	Turns on or off midpoint snap functionality for model elements. For example, the midpoint of a GENSEC.
P-Point	Turns on or off P-Point snap functionality for model elements. For example, a P-Point on a GENSEC.
P-Line Intersection	Turns on or off P-Line intersection snap functionality.
P-Line End Point	Turns on or off P-Line End snap functionality for model elements. For example, a P-Line end on a GENSEC.
P-Line Mid Point	Turns on or off P-Line midpoint snap functionality for model elements. For example, a P-Line midpoint on a GENSEC.
Laser Data	Turns on or off snapping to laser data.

Endpoint	Turns on or off endpoint snap functionality for graphical objects. For example a construction aid.
Midpoint	Turns on or off midpoint snap functionality for graphical objects.
Centre	Turns on or off centre point snap functionality for graphical objects. For example, a circular construction aid.
Quadrant	Turns on or off quadrant point snap functionality for graphical objects. For example, points representing quadrants of arced construction aids.
Nearest	Turns on or off nearest snap functionality.
Intersection	Turns on or off intersection point snap functionality for graphical objects.
Extension	Turns on or off extension point snap functionality for graphical objects. The cursor is attracted by virtual extensions of graphical objects.
Perpendicular To	Turns on or off perpendicular to point snap functionality. For example, a GENSEC can be positioned so that the start point direction is perpendicular to the object that it is connected to.
Perpendicular From	Turns on or off perpendicular from point snap functionality for graphical objects. For example, a GENSEC can be positioned so that the end point direction is perpendicular to the object that it is connected to.
Tangent	Turns on or off tangent point snap functionality for graphical objects. For example, points of graphical objects where the line connecting the point and the previous point is tangent to the graphical object.
Parallel	Turns on or off parallel point snap functionality for graphical objects. For example, points on a virtual line parallel to the indicated graphical object.
Surface	Turns on or off surface point snap functionality for graphical objects. For example, the surface of a section or a panel.

Visible		Select the check box in the header of the column to select or deselect all P-lines in the list. Select a check box to mark the P-line as visible. Deselect a check box to mark the P-line as not visible.
Additional P-lines
	PKEY	Input a PKEY value of four letters in the field to define the PKEY for a user-defined P-line.
	Description	Input a PKEY description in the field to define the description for a user-defined P-line.
	Add	Click to add a user-defined P-line to the list of available P-lines.
Remove		Click to remove the currently selected user-defined P-line from the list of available P-lines.
Reset to default		Click to return the P-line Filters tab to the default settings.

Grid On (F7)	Displays the grid in the current 3D view.
Grid Snap On (F9)	Snap objects to the grid in the current 3D view.
Grid Spacing	Input dimensional values in the X and Y fields to define the grid spacing.
Snap Spacing	Input dimensional values in the X and Y fields to define how closely the cursor adheres to the grid.
Style	Select a grid display style from the drop-down list.
Draw rulers	Display rulers when the grid displays.
