Views
3D View windows can be used to display all or part of the design model. The windows allow you to select an element by clicking on it, which navigates to it in the database making it the current element (CE).
You can rotate the display of the model using the middle mouse button. Hold down the middle mouse button and move the mouse to rotate the view. A pin displays on the 3D view that identifies the point from which the view is rotated.
You can customise the 3D Graphical View to the following views, depending on your requirements:
To a Local View
Creates a new local view of the graphical section.
When a graphical view is first displayed, it displays any objects in the global drawlist (Drawlist(1)). The new view is created on a new tab with its own drawlist (Drawlist(2)) containing only the objects selected in the graphical selection.
To a Clone View
Creates a clone of the current view, on a new tab, using the same drawlist as the current view, which can be the global drawlist or a local drawlist depending on how the current view itself was created. The Drawlist will be identical and when an element is selected it is displayed on both views.
Note:
Undoing the deletion of an element results in the element being added to the global drawlist, but is not re-added to any local drawlist which contained the deleted element.
To a Separate View
Creates a separate view of the current view on a new tab using the same elements of the Drawlist as the current view. Both Drawlists are independent of each other.
New View
Creates an empty view of the 3D Graphical window on a new tab, with the
View Settings
window displayed and an empty drawlist.
Grid Plane View
Creates a plane view from the currently selected grid plane of a reference grid. By, default the grid plane view is a 2D view that displays all objects associated with the grid plane.
By default, the name of the new grid plane view is populated with the name of the grid plane that the view is created from.
The origin of the Local Coordinate System corresponds to the grid plane.
More than one 3D View window can be displayed at the same time, allowing you to have different views of the model.
Right-clicking on a view tab displays options. These options change depending on what view you are in.
Close
Closes the selected view.
New Horizontal Tab Group
Displays the views separately and horizontally.
New Vertical Tab Group
Displays the views separately and vertically.
Float
Detaches the view and allows it to float freely.
Move to Next Tab Group
Moves the view to the next tab group.
Move to Previous Tab Group
Moves the view to the previous tab group.
