User Defined Hierarchies
The database schemas in AVEVA E3Dâ„¢ are fixed by AVEVA.
You may, however, customise the allowed hierarchy using UDETS. (User Defined Element Types).
A UDET must be based on an existing system type. For example, you may define a UDET :PUMP which is based on an EQUIPMENT. By default, a UDET will have the same allowed members and allowed owners as a base type. This can be customised to be a subset of that allowed on the base type, e.g. you might decide that SUBE are not allowed under a :PUMP even though they are allowed under an EQUI.
UDETs based on zones may own other UDETs based on zones. This allows very flexible data models to be built.
