Visual Styles

Sets the visual style for labels, text, dimensions, rulers and view frames which controls their appearance when added to a drawing. For example, the colours, line weights, styles and text sizes that they are drawn in.

DRAW is supplied with the ‘AVEVA Default’ visual style which is initially assigned to labels, text, dimensions, rulers and view frames by default. However, you can also define visual styles. A user-defined visual style can be set as the default style for labels, text, dimensions, rulers and/or view frames.

The visual style assigned to such objects can also be changed from the default at any time to any style after having been added to a drawing.

Create and Modify Visual Styles

Sets the appearance of visual styles for labels, text, dimensions, rulers and view frames.

The existing user-defined styles for the selected type of object display in the Available Styles list.

Select a style from the list to view and modify the style details. The properties display underneath the list. Modify the properties as required.


	Create a new style	Displays the Create [Text, Dimension, Label, View, Ruler] Styles window. Refer to Create Visual Style for further information.
	Delete selected styles	Click to delete the selected style from the Available Styles list. A confirmation window displays asking you to OK the deletion. Click Yes to delete the selected style. If a style which has been assigned to objects is deleted, those objects are automatically assigned to the AVEVA Default style.
	Explore the style hierarchy	Click to display the Hierarchy Browser window, indicating the location of the default visual styles hierarchy.
	Create a new style with starting values created from the selected one	Allows you to copy an existing visual style. Refer to Copy Visual Style for further information.

To apply the visual style settings and close the Visual Styles window, click OK.

Create Visual Style

Create a new visual style.

The display of the Create Style window is dependent on which tab is selected on the Visual Styles window.

The Create Style windows are similar to the Hierarchy Browser window. Refer to Hierarchy Browser for further information.

Browse the hierarchy to select the library element that the new style is to be created under. Input a name in the Name field, or leave it blank if the style is to be assigned a name automatically.

To open a drop-down menu consisting of elements that can be created at the current level, click New above the left-hand part of the window.

The icon above the right-hand part of the window is used to specify whether styles display as thumbnails, a simple list, or a list with details.

Click Create to create the new style. The new style is then created and added to the list of available styles in the Visual Styles window.

Click Cancel to discard any changes and close the Create Style window.

Copy Visual Style

Creates a new visual style as a copy of an existing visual style.

The Create Style window displays. Refer to Create Visual Style for further information.

Browse the hierarchy to select the library element that the new style is to be created under. Input a name in the Name field, or leave it blank if the style is to be assigned a name automatically.

Click Create to create the new style. The copy of the selected style is then created and added to the Available Styles list in the Visual Styles window.

Set Default Visual Styles

Sets the default visual styles for subsequently added labels, text, dimensions and view frames.

Select the check box adjacent to the required styles from the lists in the Active Visual Styles group of the Annotate tab.

Change Visual Styles of Objects

Applies a different visual style for a label, dimension, text ruler or view frame.

Select from the Text style, Label style, Dimension style, Ruler style or View style list in the Properties.
