Piping : Create Nominal Bore World

For users who require bores, that are not included in the standard nominal values, functionality is available for the creation of tables that will hold the required bores in the AVEVA Catalogue database.

When being switched from module to module, the AVEVA Catalogue database is scanned for a NBRWLD element. Purpose on NBRWLD can be set to either BLEN or BDIA depending on whether the elements are being used to store metric/imperial equivalent Bolt Lengths or Bolt Diameters. If so, the nominal bore-checking routine is switched to the user defined nominal bores.

Many multi-purpose windows provide similar functionality through the create and modify options, the functionality is common throughout all disciplines. Refer to Multi-Purpose Windows for further information. A Nominal Bore World (NBRWLD) administrative element is added to the database hierarchy and display in the Catalogue Explorer and the Bolt Diameter/Length Table is displayed.

Bolt Diameter and Length Tables

Once a NBRWLD element has been created it is possible to add bore values to a table of nominal bores, these values are recorded in NOMIMB elements.

Note:

If bolt diameters and bolt lengths are required, these values are held in the editable bolting-defaults file supplied with the software. To create or edit the bolting-defaults file, the changes must be made in the Bolt Diameter/Length Table and click Save Data to File.

Left click to highlight an entry in the Available Bolt Diameter (MM) list or select multiple entries by left clicking and dragging the mouse pointer. To remove a particular highlighted entries hold down the CTRL key and left click on a bore size.


ADD >	Adds a highlighted bolt diameter to the Equivalent Bolt Table (MM to INCH) part of the Bolt Diameter/Length Table.
ADD ALL >>	Adds all the highlighted bolt diameters to the Equivalent Bolt Table (MM to INCH) part of the Bolt Diameter/Length Table.
Remove <	Removes the highlighted bolt diameter to the Equivalent Bolt Table (MM to INCH) part of the Bolt Diameter/Length Table.
Remove All <<	Removes all bolt diameters to the Equivalent Bolt Table (MM to INCH) part of the Bolt Diameter/Length Table. A warning is displayed prompting for confirmation.
Grid Insertion Type	Select to change between the equivalent Bolt Diameter or Bolt Length. The effect of this will be to set the PURP attribute of the NBRWLD to BLEN or BDIA. This option will be greyed out if the Specification table is already populated with data.
Add a row	Adds a new row of data to the Equivalent Bolt Table (MM to INCH) part of the Bolt Diameter/Length Table. New bolt values can be entered directly in the cells of the new row.
Delete a row	Delete a row from the Equivalent Bolt Table (MM to INCH) part of the Bolt Diameter/Length Table.
Save Data to File	Save all of the entries in the Equivalent Bolt Table (MM to INCH) to the bolting defaults file located in the PMLUI environment variable cat\dflts directory.
