It is possible to insert a Revision Block Shape on the drawing. This shape is a table displaying revision-related information. Layout and content of this table is configurable in Lexicon, through the REVBLD element referenced in the current Revision Configuration (REVCON).

To use the Revision Block Shape in Diagrams, it has to be imported beforehand using Import Shape Wizard. In this wizard the Revision Block Shape type is available under Annotation shapes. Any two dimensional shape can be imported as a Revision Block. During the import process the shape will be changed to a table with width and height dimensions of the original, source shape.

Step 5 of the Import Shape Wizard allows you to select the Revision Block Configuration (REVBLD element), which will determine the Revision Block Layout. All REVBLD elements referenced in currently used Revision Configuration are listed there.

Note:

In Lexicon it is possible to set a maximum number of revisions displayed in the Revision Block Shape as unlimited. In this case the actual limit will be obtained from a setting Number of revisions in Revision Block in Diagrams Options > Element Options > Revision Block Options.

Because the layout of a Revision Block Shape is dependent on a REVBLD element configured in Lexicon, de-synchronization could occur when the REVBLD element is changed. If there is a Revision Block Shape on the drawing, which has an outdated layout, it will be automatically re-initialized when the shape is refreshed.

However, the layout will not be automatically re-initialized when the Issued Revision is being created to avoid uncontrolled changes on drawing. In this situation a warning message will pop up informing you that the Issued drawing contains Revision Block Shapes with outdated layout.
